colin7777
Hi, Couldn't find an exact forum area to put this so sorry if in the wrong area. Does anyone know how to export DWG or DXF file from Drawing Express, I don't have the package but my Architect doesn't know how to do this but has said he will send me the file if I can explain how it is done. Thanks Colin
Temp
Google says they have a good telephone support line. I guess this doesn't work?... file -> save as -> then use drop down menu to change the file extension to .dxf or .dwg

Ed Davies
https://cloudconvert.com/svg-to-dxf Don't know how much extra information DE will put in the SVG and how much of that will be picked up by cloudconvert but it could be a possible route to at least get basic 2D geometry converted across. SVG won't do 3D.

I don't have the package, it is my architect who uses the package but he doesn't know how to find the facility. It uses a tablet and pen so I guess it is selected somehow from the various areas on the tablet rather than selecting File etc from the screen. . Jeremy Harris
The web site for Drawing Express says that it is .dwg/.dxf compatible: http://www.trial-systems.co.uk/products/drawing_express/ That means there should be an option to either "save as" .dwg/.dxf of perhaps "export" as .dwg/.dxf. I'd expect these options to be in the "file" menu somewhere.

PW1
Hi I have some old Drawing Express .exp files I need to convert to .dwg. I don’t have access to the software anymore. Can anyone convert them if I email / Dropbox them?

Post up a small file and we can all try out out CAD programmes and see if one works. Try Windows 3D viewer, says it opens *.exp Edited March 15, 2023 by SteamyTea
