It's funny though how most people instinctively want to use professionals for all the big 'scary' jobs like erecting the frame, and go DIY for the fiddly stuff at the end. Wrong way round in some respects!

The problem with Plastering is the quicker you are the better the finish It’s experience First fixing joinery is very forgiving and you can take your time

I reckon i’ll Be about £1500 sq metre once finished - years from now .

Do everything , apart from plastering and a few specifics like flat roof .

More importantly how I look at it is what it cost to what it’s worth ...

skimming cost is not OTT when compared to the rest of the house.  Its been ~ 1.5% of our build cost.  Currently worrying about the price of kitchens - some kitchen sellers will try to get this up to 10% of the build!
