Looking to possibly add a battery but looking at charger inverters. Looking for recommendations for an AC coupled in Inverter charger, FYI the battery will be in the 5-9kW range. Must haves 1. AC coupled, not directly connected to existing PV. 2. Must work with existing PV inverters (X2) one Growatt, the other Solis. Not interested in getting hybrid inverters. 3. Must work in a power cut (have had two power cuts this week, one for 4 hours the other for 2 hours) 4. A nice to have would be in a power cut, the existing PV inverters think there's still mains and keep producing.

I have a 6kW inverter donated by a kind BH member, so I decided to buy more panels today and put it to use as I have had good success with my smaller array using micro inverters. So I decided to setup the bigger inverter so I could connect it to the Wi-Fi etc. however, no dice. It's all hooked up on the AC side, but nothing lights up on the LCD screen - so the question is, do some models not fire up unless the DC side is active? I did plug in a single panel I have in my garage just to show the inverter a non-generating closed circuit, but to no avail. I know my micro inverters, when plugged into the mains, with a PV string attached but no DC generation do nothing, they look dead, you would only get a fault warning LED if the string was generating without AC connected. The inverter manual is a bit poor - Goodwe GW6000D-NS is the model. Thoughts welcome.

I've put a few of these cheap LED floodlights about: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/192036357719 Apart from the fact they didn't like a super cheap non-sine wave inverter and kept blowing up so I've upgraded to a sine wave inverter and they seem fine. To help the trades I've put some switched plugs on LED power cords: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261904475129 But when the switch is OFF the LED floods are partially illuminating - this is happening on all the LED floods I have with these switch plugs on. Is it dangerous? A problem with the LED? A problem with the switch? A screwup by me? Thanks for any tips Paul
