Hi, I have got a date for our electric connection from Western Power Distribution (WPD) to be completed, and need to arrange for an electric meter from an electricity supplier. Hoorah. This is to a build site with no registered address either with the council or the post office. First question is, does this need to be installed before the electric supply? Looking at pictures of meter boxes in other threads it would seem it is. Next question, based on the couple of phone calls I've made, I need an MPAN number which can't exist without a registered address (or so I am being told), so I appear to be in a catch 22 situation. Should Western Power be able to provide me with an MPAN number? Last questions - How quick should the electricity supplier (not WPD) be able to install the meter? Who's best? Cheers Stuart

I was away when we had our water connected up in the main road. I had requested and paid for a 32mm supply as we are about 80 metres from the main supply. I have now received photos of the actual connection and it shows the end of my 32mm pipe going into a reducer, a short length (100mm) of 25mm pipe and then the coupling into the main. My question is this normal as I expected it to be 32mm all the way to the main? I cannot see it making to much difference but just thought I would ask?

Evening all. Doing some 1st fit plumbing at the minute and the current task is to add a toilet to a run of soil pipe in the first floor joists. The pipe falls right to left, with a shower and basin on the right and the plan is to add the toilet between theses and where the pipe then goes dow into the ground floor on the left. I am now concerned that the jobbies may linger at the new joint and eventually cause problems.... Is this a fair concern? I have a feeling that the jobbies ought to be going in the general direction before they join the pipe - just to make sure they keep going in the right direction. I worry about things like this. Fall is 1:40. Any observations / help gratefully received. Thanks CC

I'm trying not to laugh, but to ensure a temporary connection, I've been told I need a brick built cubicle. These are screenshots from the quote I have just received..... and here's the object of desire.... All for the knock-down price of £4000 I've missed something haven't I? Tell me it's not true, give it me straight men, I can take it. I'm ugly enough. It's the brick-built sh1t house that gets me...... Ian
