B&Q Spacepro brand. MIs say 2260 is the frame height, width 3m. So my opening is 2270 at one side 2280 at the other. How do I do this? Was thinking a bit of 19mm planed timber attached to ceiling and plane it to remove the extra 10mm? Will it bend enough? Thoughts welcome... Floor is square, ceiling has been plastered after a leak and I reckon its the ceiling that's off-sloped. Plan A is to cut a timber to 2260 then mark out the gap every 150mm or so across the 3m opening

Does anyone @ProDave @Onoff see anything wrong with this consumer unit. Ignore the odd wire exiting, just the fuses...

Will these drains pass BC
Tennentslager replied to Tennentslager's topic in House Extensions & Conservatories
None of the perimeter drains on the plan where put in! All the extension drains are fitted underneath to the existing drains (coloured dark in the plan) So, no IC no perimeter drains at all -

Yes it works Yes it is vented Can't see any way to rod it Pipes are under suspended timber floor in the extension and original stuff is buried If he gets an inspection chamber fitted as per the plan (this was not done) will this be okay to rod it? -

Happy to be advised, it's all working okay but FiL worries about it, peace of mind is needed. He did suggest putting in the inspection chamber as per the plan as that did is still driveway -
Father in law was in hospital when builder did his extension and his wife agreed to everything he said. The plan shows new drainage around the perimeter and associated inspection and rodding points. None of this was done and everything ( shower, toilet, sink and rain water) were connected to the existing system which is now covered by the extension which is now complete. Builder was sacked long ago, there was some legal advice and think my relative kept the final payment. He is 85.

Its been a while since i have posted but looking for any contact details for a plan drawer in Glasgow. I am planning a single storey extension to the back of three bedroom semi built around 1964. Basic rectangle, 3.5m x 5m to house a new kitchen. Drawings for planning and BC. @ETC @Gus Potter @Iceverge Come to mind as folk who might know of a person or company. I'm intrigued about how much I can do myself but feeling my fitness is not as good as it was and there is a young joiner across the road who is venturing into the extension business. Many thanks Sam

Leak protection system for hot water tank
Tennentslager replied to waxingsatirical's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
I'm currently in a rental in Quebec and the tank is in a tray, with a drain. Also the wee white thing is a sensor which turns off the water in event of a leak.T -
Getting some studwork walls in our new office that I've yer to sign the lease for. Happy withe joiners quote but he asked along his electrician as we will also have a few sockets and light switches. Each exiting wall has around 5 double sockets 2,3m apart and have a 16 Amp circuit breaker the mini type. Electrician not happy to add three double sockets for the work kitchen area, kettle, fridge, microwave ( be nice to put a slimline dishwasher in too) and wants to rip out and replace the board too for North of £6k. It's an office for maybe 15 people and use will be laptops and a few pics. It's got gas central heating so no electric heater. I know I'll need a second opinion but is this a bad install by the Romanian guys who did the refurbishment for the landlord. It's got a completion certificate but I have not yet seen it...bit worried about this now

Finish this off, very happy with the neoprene tube product. Floor waxed and job done. The picture if of a very uniform gap but it coped with less and more. It's about how much you stretch it for thinner gaps.
