  1. Hi Yes, we found a contractor to make the Murphy door for us. He built it from scratch. Photos below.
  2. I was too scared to use anything on it, I have to say. Even BKF until the engineer said it was ok to use it gently. Next time I’ll pay more attention to this group. The Bake-O-Glide mats first off, and secondly T-Cut!
  3. You may remember back in August my husband a brilliant idea of how to use my big non-induction pan on our induction hob. Our new, very expensive Bora hob! It worked really, really well … until it didn’t, and the pan which was the conductor overheated and bowed 😩 This caused the disc on the bottom to protrude, and as I was stirring the mahoosive pan full of whatever it was I was batch cooking, the conductor pan turned and made circular scratches in the black ceramic glass. The other day I got a quote to replace the glass as I was so upset about how it looked, but when I talked to the engineer he said he would try buffing the scratches out first with Barkeepers Friend. As I happened to have some I gave it a go. Would you believe it, it worked really well! Not all the scratches are gone, but I’ll keep at it gently buffing and try to remove all the scratches. Saved us over £921.60!!! Top photo was the damage. Below photo is after first attempt to buff out the scratches. In time it may well be like new again 🤞🏻
  4. Thanks everyone. I’m wallowing in self-pity for not buying something sooner. Woe is me! Never mind. In the grand scheme of things there are plenty who would be overjoyed that their main upset of the day was a scratched hob.
  5. I’m a blind idiot 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
  6. If it was beans on toast or 5* Haute cuisine the result is the same. My hob is trashed 😢
  7. Dammit!! Why didn’t I know about these before? 😫😫😫
  8. Thought I’d come back to this. A year on and the surface of our Bora hob is shot. Scratches everywhere, and I’ve been so careful to not drag anything across it. It is just so prone to scratching. Last night I used a new pan which has a disc in the middle with the company name. It’s totally ruined my hob. So annoyed with the pan, myself for using it and the hob for being so scratchable. Ugh 😩 Picture below with offending pan

  10. @dpmillerNothing other than cost AFAIK
  11. Thanks, but driveway edgings??!?
  12. Morning! What have you used for your driveway edgings, and have you used the same around gardens and paths? We’ve considered Marshall’s Drivesys roundtop edging in dark grey, but looking for cheaper alternatives. We need 85 linear metres in all for drive and paths. Interested to know what else we could use. Thanks!
  13. Now there’s an idea. It’s a large drive and path all the way around the house. We’re talking about 200 lengths ?
  14. Can anyone help? We are trying to find something like this that doesn’t break the bank. Anyone come across dark grey edging for the price of the cheap light grey concrete ones? https://www.marshalls.co.uk/gardens-and-driveways/product/drivesys-round-top-driveway-edging
  15. Thank you for your helpful, detailed reply. Given us plenty to think about. We are now looking at bollards rather doorstops!
  16. Hi guys I'm looking for something like this that can be cemented into our driveway to prevent an outward opening door being ripped out of our hands in the high winds. Needs to be cemented in so needs to be substantial. Thanks
  17. You can?? Please can you send me a link. Thanks!
  18. One of the landscapers had a good idea today which was to wet each of the samples we can and stick them in the freezer. I did that (wet them twice) and I got my answer as to what we can have on the wheelchair slope … and it’s not porcelain! If I want to break my coccyx again or have even more titanium in my spine then porcelain would be fine, but no! The porcelain was an ice rink!! Far too dangerous, so instead we will put the same as we’re putting on the garage slopes - Marshall’s Driveline Nova course. Not aesthetically as beautiful, but far safer.
  19. Thanks for your reply. It’s actually for outside so although showering isn’t an issue, the driving rain will be!
  20. Thanks! It’s for outside and up a slope. Not greatly used but does get a lot of the weather - sun, wind and rain, so we’re conscious of fading.
  21. For outside the front door and up the soon-to-be created slope to the front door.
  22. What would/did you choose and why please. We were sent in the direction of porcelain as limestone fades apparently. However, it’s quite a bit cheaper.
