  1. any update on the ecology situation, i will need to apply for a mortgage in the next few weeks in central scotland what are my other options apart from buildstore?
  2. https://www.trelino.com/en-gb/products/trelino®-evo-s?variant=43660998344968&tw_source=google&tw_adid=702839210110&tw_campaign=21384428390&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwx4O4BhAnEiwA42SbVM2jNLP-ifgHsGbXUEW4nRngdIV9nDdi4ZpLEs79yqBNyrQwRf6mHxoCHMQQAvD_BwE having taken advice on here on board ive found a composting toilet online https://www.trelino.com/en-gb/products/trelino®-evo-s?variant=43660998344968&tw_source=google&tw_adid=702839210110&tw_campaign=21384428390&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwx4O4BhAnEiwA42SbVM2jNLP-ifgHsGbXUEW4nRngdIV9nDdi4ZpLEs79yqBNyrQwRf6mHxoCHMQQAvD_BwE does anyone know how it works? can i store it inside the caravan? thanks
  3. Ok ill have a think about this option too, what about an ibc burried with pallots round all 4 sides to help abvoid it caving? And then just use it as a holding tank emptied every month or 2?
  4. Haha yes i have an old 2500 litre oil tank but spreading it on a field could get u a 100k fine?
  5. What sort of price range are they?
  6. yes ive seen these online, its black water waste im dealing with though, would a holding tank rather than a septic tank require less paperwork? water tanks can be bought online and a company could come and empty it every so often?
  7. yes i have cattle, how do u mean?
  8. thanks thats quite a hefty price though ive found another one online, still more money than id like to part with but let me know ur thoughts tank-160-effluent-tank?dfw_tracker=true&paid=true&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMax+%7C+SALES+%7C+Tanks&gad_source=1&gclid=
  9. howd u mean tanks that need carrying can i use waste water tanks for sewage? thats £1200, im trying to keep costs down just now or id just pay it
  10. is that not for waste water? would it be suitable for sewage too?
  11. Ive been looking online over £500 for effluent tanks, not cheap, how do u mean wheel the waste? A specialised carrier? The only issue with tipping it in a hole with a pail every day is risk of catching ecoli etc? Is this a high risk?
  12. i dont really want the hassle of planning or building warrants tbh, suppose i could put a pail under the outlet and dig a hole somewhere with the digger or is this too barbaric? unfortunately the house is going at the other side of the farm from the caravan and dont really want to burry the tank and have to dig it up again etc, the IBC thing could be an option its more of a cesspit then than a sewage tank? would it not smell bad near the caravan?
  13. i didnt bother with planning as im told you can live in one temporarily when i house is being constructed and you can also have one for an agricultural worker and im both,i did think about a chemical loo u mean like a portable one?
  14. I have recently moved into a static caravan i havent had much time.due to being at harvest so i have everything in place except the sewage, currently using toilet in parents house, whats the best solution? Septic tank or a portable type toilet? I expect to be in the static for 10 months max, is it worth the hassle and expense of installing a septic tank? And do i need planning? Thanks
  15. thanks ive measured and looks to be 15mm
  16. if a tap was turned off slightly would this not do the same thing? just wondered if there was a difference before i order the valve? thanks
  17. thanks for the advice, ive been thinking about the fact there is 2 water connection points, is it possible that both were connected up to the water supply so that the water pressure wasnt badly affected if someone was using the kitchen sink while someone was using the bathroom taps or shower? the pipes under caravan look smaller than quarter inch is it normal for these to be 15mm pipes? thanks
  18. ive followed all the pipes and the plastic ones are def water as they come up at the bathroom and kitchen sinks, the copper one comes up to both the boiler and the cooker
  19. Yes it looks like the boiler connects onto that copper pipe coming from the back of caravan, i was just a bit confused by the washing machine type connector at the front as i wouldnt have thought this would be for gas, thanks ill order one!
  20. Thanks for the reply joe, Its strange that theres 2 access points for water though? Should i blank one off? Another thing confusing me is that yes 1 appears to be gas and 2 looks like a water connection but midway along the caravan the 2 pipes joint together meaning surely they must both be water or both be gas? Ill attach the pic of where they merge! Thanks
  21. thanks for the feed back i have noted what you said about the water pressure and may put a tap on so i can slow it down slightly as the pressure is high where im connecting to yes i found it odd that there appeared to be 2 water connection points, the last pic isbelow where the kitchen sink is and there is also a thicker plastic pipe which i assumed was waste water run off point the connection point on the first pic is below the bathroom yes i got given 1 almost empty gas can with a rubber tube on the end id assume this will connect to the copper pipe? i will get someone to check it once connected, id hoped to do it myself without a plumber but thought it was be a simple case of just connecting up thanks
  22. Yes ive tried to follow them and only really see 2 connection points theyre tricky looking though as the supply comes in on a thicker blue pipe, lot of the pipes have been wrapped in insulation
  23. Thanks ive had to move out of my rented accomodation having sold my house so this now seems the cheaper option while building
