  1. More than happy with real world advice especailly when it's the answer I so desperately want to hear! You don't think sign off will be an issue?? And no, sadly no posi joists...
  2. Hi all, We are currently fitting a Mitsubishi MVHR Lossonay 350L to our self-build. The unit has to sit 300mm off the floor to allow access, and the exhaust has to be 1500mm clear of the inlet. With the restrictions on site we can only get to 1300mm between the two. Will this work/be comissioned? Also, pipe runs are proving tricky in some rooms. I know you can have floor or ceiling mounted vents in rooms but is a wall mounted one possible? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks, Alex
  3. These are the vision! Love these, thank you for sharing
  4. Hi all, I am looking for recommendations for an online staircase construction company. Would love to hear if anyone has worked with one and how it went. My next question (and be nice, I am new to this) Can you get staircases made entirely of hardwood ply? I like ply both for aesthetic reasons but also as a cost alternative to solid wood. Many thanks, Alex
  5. I am renovating/extending a brick bungalow. We have removed the roof so have exposed the top of the cavity wall. We only have one remaining wall of the existing bungalow that is external and we will be insulating it internally but it seems a wasted opportunity to not up the insulation whilst we have that cavity exposed. It needs to be a solution that is budget and DIY friendly. I have seen polystyrene balls - is this the best option? Thanks in advance.
  6. I have been turned down by three of the big names. Are you able to share who you use and I will try them. Thanks
  7. Hi, We have just had our buildings and contents insurance cancelled after I informed them we were starting renovation work. I was expecting this and already have all singing, all dancing (read expensive) self-build site insurance in place so I just need contents insurance but am struggling. We will always be living on site either in the house being renovated or a caravan. Anyone got any recommendations of an insurance company who would insure personal contents in this situation? Many thanks, Alex
