  1. I think we may be wise then getting the company back who serviced it/quoted on the basis we could really do with hot water this week! I only just managed to heat the water to 42 degrees when I noticed the leak so until it is resolved we are kind of stuck and solar isn't doing much! Gym it is this week to use their shower...
  2. Tundish is definately leaking, a lot! Are we ok to have our ASHP heating on still and just avoid using the ASHP for heating out hot water?
  3. I take it it is likely those two white cylinders do need replacing then?
  4. Spoke to soon! Definately leaking. Turned water off on ASHP.. presume we shoulsld try and avoid using the ASHP to heat our hot water and probably try and get this sorted asap. Maybe I was too quick to doubt the first company then. 20260111_143031.mp4
  5. Turned water on. Watched it for 10 mins with torch looking for any signs of a drip and nothing so far. Let some tissue in and will monitor over next day or so and see if there is any sign of any water.
  6. Hot water had not been on since yesterday as I turned it off on the ASHP as I wanted to manually switch it on today and watch to see if there were any leaks from that tundish. Haven't turned it on yet and just noticed the black pressure needle has dropped - photo taken 1.10pm(ASHP heating came on at 1pm). Is this normal? Edit to say, it creeped back up again (photo taken below 35 mins later at 1.45 so maybe just dropped as heating came on/is on now..)
  7. I don't think he did, that was one of the things the quote included... service did not include topping up glycol.
  8. Thank you I will turn it on later and watch it for a bit. I will then the tissue method too.... will update soon.
  9. Is it this that is coming from the Gledhill tank? It feels dry at the moment. I can test it later and turn the water on after I have had a bath. Cant see anything else like that.
  10. It was our first time using this company (unfortunately there are only about 3 companies localish who service/install heat pumps) and we are definately going to ditch these... Any of your 'normal' plumbers this end don't seem to know ASHPs (our experience of plumbers is they don't know plumbing either)! So the main players are renewables companies that 'specialise' in renewables like heat pumpd, solar etc.
  11. So, checked this morning and everything all fine since I added pressure back. Heating and hot water working, not noticed any dips in the black/red bar thibgys when the heating or hot water is on or off. Since I added the pressure back I have made a few checks throughout the day today and yesterday when heating is on and off and hot water is on and off. No change. One thing I did notice when having a good nosy around is on the bottom of the Gledhill tank. It is not dripping or but there was a copper wet mark on the floor and when I touched the pipe I got a rusty damp finger. The ASHP only does the hot water for a few months of the year as the rest of the time the Solic 2000 diverts for our hot water and for around 8 months a year the hot water programme on the ASHP is turned off completely. At the moment we just have the hot water ASHP timed to come on for an hour during Cosy tarrif late afternoon but on days like today when it has been sunny all day our water is pretty much at temperature so the ASHP likely wont need to heat it much if at all....
  12. It is on during Octopus Cosy times so I will check around 11am tomorrow (it would have gone off at 7am so will have cooled off).
  13. Oh god, sounds like this company do not know what they are doing! For now, I have added pressure back and everything seems to be ok so far. Heating and hot water is on at the moment given the cold snap. I wonder if I am better getting a different company out, explain everything and go from there....
  14. It was installed on 8.12.2020. So over 5 years old. Here are some better pictures.
  15. They didn't say but presume just one person. I may get some other quotes or just get it done. Probably the cost of the services we have not had! Just wonder is this likely to be a regular issue or what is the cause of it?
  16. No, it was an RHI install. I think it was 3 or 4 years since our last service to be honest!
  17. Paperwork just come on email, seems we may need to get expansion tanks replaced!
  18. I was not around, I booked the service but was not here when they did it. This is supoosed to be a reputable firm, indeed it has been around for a while and locally comes recommended OH said guy filled in lots of paperwork and said we would be emailed it along with a copy of the invoice but it may be a while as they were busy. What happened next was radio silence and then on about day 12 a snotty typed letter and invoice that we hadn't paid reminding me of their terms. Turns out they had taken my email address wrong which is why I had not received it. Needless to say I tore a strip off them, they apologised, I paid and that was that but I never did receive any paperwork from the service (probably because it was sent to my wrong email). I have followed this up this morning. I can see from the invoice that it does say a certificate will be supplied on receipt of payment but I haven't had one.
  19. I don't own a tyre pressure gauge but I have ordered one from Amazon for delivery tomorrow. I have now added pressure back in for now. The other half mentioned at the service the guy mentioned something about 'that red tank' and that it may need replacing so I am guessing it may be an expansion tank issue! That all said we have not had it serviced for about 4 years and I would likely get a different company if it does need replacing and get a different opinion...
  20. That is odd as we only had the system serviced 2 weeks ago... maybe it is a problem with the expansion vessel?
  21. This you mean.. One side of flexi hose this.. And the other side this... Just checked it now and it is back to normal but this could very well be as the heating is on but if I turn the hot water on it slowly drops so I probably need to investigate tomorrow as something is not quite right. Will it do damage having the hot water heating up with the black needle on 0?
  22. The heating has tripped in and it has creeped up a bit to about 0.5 bar but it seems if the heating goes off it drops again. Edit. Spoke to soon, heating still on and it fluctuating between 0.5 and lower. If I manually turn on hot water programme (it is normally on a timer) black needle drops rapidly to zero.
  23. Non technical description....I noticed today that the black needle thing is pretty much on zero but the bar seems fine. I think the black one is to do with the heating. I know I need to look at adding pressure but any youtube vidros say I should have two valves and I only have one (the black one to the right). If I turn this nothing happens. Is there something else I need to turn as well? There are two blue lever things to the right. 20260108_225857.mp4
