  1. Hi, yeah my wife found it on your Instagram earlier when I told her about it. Thanks
  2. Just watching it now, I really like a lot of your paint finishes, how was that achieved with the not a flat colour look? Lovely house. You have done a great job.
  3. Should have said. It is power floated and has UFH pipes in
  4. I am getting my 100mm fibre reinforced concrete slab polished. Should I put some heat in this before the contractors come to force and cracks that may appear or just leave it as it is? Currently it has been done 4 months and no signs of cracks.
  5. Speak to viessman, they will let you know trained installers in your area. I myself am a viessman installer and they are fantastic boilers and what you are suggesting is not a hard task for anyone really...was the £3600 including supply of all materials? On another note I would steer clear of atag, my experience in the past is of nothing but trouble with badly built boilers
  6. I have a borehole filling a 1000 litre break tank which is then pumped into the house. If power goes off there is a 1000litres of fresh water I can access but the best option I would do is then run a extension lead to my battery and it's emergency socket!
  7. Hijacking this thread slightly...does that LED strip give off enough light? Was thinking of something similar.
  8. Just fitting fascia boards on my timber cladding...the boards are tight up against the slates but due to the how slates are fitted there is a gap above the fascia as you can hopefully see in the attached picture. Do I fill this or leave it open? If I do fill it, with what? Some black ct1? It would have to be a pretty neat job as it is only single story so pretty visible. Any suggestions appreciated thanks.
  9. Dreamingthebuild...everything you type seems a little "asking for a friend"! And possibly just trying to plug your own YouTube channel. I doubt anyone would have a problem with this it just all sounds suspicious the way you are writing it and asking questions!
  10. I can't say I have ever used it...the press is fantastic though, rarely solder now.
  11. Don't knock the copper. I am a plumber and will use both (polypipe plastic). More and more installers I speak to seem to be going back to copper for more jobs...it's just better. Soldered or press fit fittings are so much safer than push fit plastic...and running nice neat copper pipework looks the business and is a much more professional job. Yes it may take slightly longer but there is not much difference at all in cost but I believe you will get a much higher quality, less leak prone job done in copper.
  12. I don't know how you could put in a claim for an exact amount. If they are a good company maybe a polite email or call asking what they thought about some compensation as after all it was their incompetence that meant you had a leak....they must have never tested it properly in the first place...or the second place. Actually...they don't at all sound like a good company!
  13. If it smells worse under boiler may be a leak after the gas valve which will only show up when boiler is running so testing pipework wouldn't show any pressure drop. Get him to check in the boiler.
  14. One question you need to ask is why is it so close to the top of the floor anyway? Someone messed up in the first place by looks of it.
  15. The only ones I have ever seen fail haven't been installed correctly...kinked or with too tight a radius bend. Causes the steel fibres to rub against the plastic inside.
