CC45
I know there are a few experts on here..... I do not tile for a living but do all my own tiling. I am in the middle of a bathroom and two unsuites - all was going well until the 'value' tile cutter I am using decided to give up cutting in a straight line (bent bars courtesy of a mate) so I'm on the hunt for a replacement one. want better than bottom end - willing to pay up to £100 - may go higher if warranted but not more than ~ £120. Been looking at one of these two: https://www.screwfix.com/p/rubi-star-50n-plus-tile-cutter/53843 https://www.screwfix.com/p/rubi-star-max-51-manual-tile-cutter-510mm/2652k I think the second one is the latest version of the first one. Not many reviews of it. Any thoughts out there amongst our experts? Cheers
bassanclan
What size tiles are you or will you be cutting? Do you want to go diagonal with cuts or just in a straight line? Is it a one off job and are you looking to sell it afterwards?
CC45
nothing more than about 600mm, just straight cuts really - not brave enough to go for diagonal designs! Its just for the current job BUT I said that with the current one 3 jobs back. I tend to buy tools and then keep them.... The following seems to have good reviews https://www.screwfix.com/p/big-clinker-2-heavy-duty-tile-cutter-630mm/29758 Leaning towards this at the minute.... Onoff
I wet cut my diagonals. Tbh bloody amazed how well they came out. Abandoned the Rubi scribe 'n snap one tbh in favour for the wet cutter for everything.
bassanclan
Big clinker is good. It's a bit of a pain to line up, but it is very good for the money, otherwise look at something rubi second hand
