Homeguard laminated "triple" glazing

A company has quoted me for "Homeguard" laminated glazing in lieu of triple on some flush pvc windows. They claim U values down to 1.15U, 35DB noise reduction, and various other benefits. It's a 10% uplift on the normal window (which isn't far off what triple would cost). Does anyone have any experience of this glass or similar? Are the numbers to be believed?

 

The glass is 6.4mm clear laminated + 18mm warm edge spacer+ 4mm anealed planitherm.

The "35DB noise reduction" they are quoting, is likely the sound reduction index (Rw), and a Rw of 35 dB is possible, by i would be asking for the test (BS ISO 10140-2:2010 / or BS 140-3) that backs up that claim, and ensure that that value includes the frame system and isn't just the performance of the glass by itself.

 

For an alternative Pilkington do a 6/16/6.8  Insulight Phon incorporating Pilkington K Glass, which is tested (i don't know if it includes the frame) that achieves an Rw of 38 dB, and argon filled U-value of 1.5.

Those figures seem fine, it is basically double glazing with one laminated pane.

 

Triple glazing with a laminated pane would probably achieve a 39dB reduction and around a 0.7-0.8 U-Value. Sound laminated panes can take this up to 41-42dB reduction.

Thanks - but if you can get U values that low, with the added security benefits of laminated glass, at a lower cost than triple, why aren't more people selling this? Or are they and I just haven't noticed?
