... bought from B&Q maybe 10 years ago?

Needs a lot of turning to turn off completely so I would like to try rewashering it.

No visible grub screw. Can't prize any cap off the top to get at any fixings. Can't turn it on far enough to see any hex flat underneath to unscrew the headworks.

Any ideas?

Small screwdriver to pop the caps out of the tops, remove screw to remove knob and you will then get to take the tap apart.
just re read post and you cannot get caps out? If that’s right the whole cap/knob may be held with a snap ring and just pulls off …. With some force ….. or it may shatter!

I’m sure the chrome cap will prize off.  You may have to soak in viacal or similar and work your fingernails under it, but I would be very surprised if you didn’t find a grub screw under the cap.

I used to have the same taps.

As other have said.  Small screwdriver to get the cap off, you need to push it into the plastic ring a bit.

The, you need a Phillips screwdriver, not a Posidrive to undo the screw.

Wiggle the knob off, this can be quite difficult as it can a bit corroded.

Then you can get to the cartridge with a spanner.

I changed all mine to quarter turn cartridges with lever taps.  This was because my one armed lodger had trouble holding a kettle and turning a tap.
