Morning @Duncan62

Were you expecting the self levelling concrete to be your final flooring or adding another layer?

I sense that a concrete surface was / is your desired outcome.

If you have the time and energy I would recommend you do a test with a grinder.   The grinding discs or pads are the costly part.

I made some concrete worktops with fibres, lots of wet grinding and very pleased with the outcome.

That looks lovely.

Definitely after a concrete look, preferably without aggregate (cement look?!).

Given lack expertise at the pour stage, if we wanted polished concrete, we should have had a different product delivered and laid.

I read the fibres can be burnt of when exposed, does this leave residue in your experience?

Given all the very good comments here, I think the plan is to grind away enough to level high spots away and maybe 5mm all over, ready for the self levelling compound from Arturo system. This levels the whole area, ready for the epoxy.

Grinding is difficult and dirty, the equipment is cheap to hire but the pads are expensive?

Any recommendations for pads or does the hire usually come with them?

Grinding heads are a consumable of this process.

You’d need to explain what you want to do to the hire company, area to grind etc, and ask their advice on the expected mileage of these things, plus the cost.

Yes, high end finish would come at a significant premium.

Yes, I had a few fibres poking out the sides and used a lighter to remove.

Great advice here, grinding for preparation for another layer so not too critical.

I was wet grinding outdoors in open shed, no dust so will be filthy indoors. Suit up, proper mask.

Hire company usually provide on sale or return.
