Alan Ambrose Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I would like to be able to see a patch of the sky...
Gone West Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago We've got a couple of sun tubes in our kitchen, but they have frosted plastic at the bottom. It's probably so you can't see the reflective tube. Incidently we're going to replace them with boxed in skylights sometime. 1
SteamyTea Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Sun pipes/tubes usually have a vented top dome to reduce condensation. The brush seal usually fails after a while and insects get in. The design may have changed as it was last century that I was involved with them.
Alan Ambrose Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago >>> Isn't that just a skylight. Ooooh - what's the philosophical difference between a skylight and a sun tunnel, nice? Not much as there are round skylights. Some sun tunnels just direct light, you can't see out. Circular skylights are usually bigger. I guess the big thing is that skylights nearly always have their aperture parallel to the roof. I'm looking for a vertical tube to put above my showers so that I can see the sky 😁 ... preferably with ends that are parallel to the roof and the internal ceiling.
