flanagaj Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Our static is being delivered next week and as a result of short timescales and lack of availability, I'm siting it with a chap who has a 4x4 and a 1.7t excavator. What I want to know is whether I need to buy axle stands or whether it's best to just put it on blocks? Any tips from those who've sited one themselves welcomed.
Tony L Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Best on blocks, I'd say. We had ours installed by the dealer we bought the 'van from, & they told me to get the ground as level as possible & have plenty of blocks to hand. Perhaps they fine tuned the levels with off cuts of wood & old slates - I don't remember now. 1
Tom Posted Tuesday at 13:18 Posted Tuesday at 13:18 I supported our static on these: https://mystatic.co.uk/static-caravan-axle-stand-medium?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18389908304&gbraid=0AAAAAC5hZe7h_azbtkOUPbU3MmfJvLwm1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7I_f6a-1kAMVV5WDBx0SDBkeEAQYBCABEgJMhPD_BwE each placed on a concrete paving slab. Took about 30 minutes and zero movement in 4 years. Trying to level the thing by using spacers and wedges just sounds like an absolute PITA. 1
