aidy55 Posted Tuesday at 14:32 Posted Tuesday at 14:32 Does anyone know what direction the flue pipe should be. Our charwood country 6 just has a 1m flue pipe from stove collar to a cone shaped adaptor in the chimney. The flue sits inside the collar with fire cement around it There always has been a slight smell of smoke in the room We had a pizza oven installed recently and the fitter has the flue pipe around the outside of the collar. Perhaps this is how the charnwood stove should be. Im thinking if the flue is on the outside then there is no need for fire cement and less chance of smoke escaping
Redbeard Posted Tuesday at 15:46 Posted Tuesday at 15:46 They normally sit inside a socket on WBS but at the bottom of the socket on mine is a 'stop', so little chance of smoke. Like I have never had any).
ProDave Posted Tuesday at 21:57 Posted Tuesday at 21:57 As above the sections sit inside the one they are sitting onto. It was explained to me that was to allow any condensation to run down the inside of the pipe. If they had mated the other way that might end up running out of a joint. Remember single wall flue pipe is NOT sealed joints. Just a tight fit. There should be plenty of draw in the flue that it is not going to leak any smoke. Connection into top of stove sealed with fire cement.
saveasteading Posted Wednesday at 06:52 Posted Wednesday at 06:52 I've got one that looks the same. Must be 25 years old, and is primitive. 25 years ago we expected smoke. The door seals are a likely source of smoke, but are easily changed. The air adjusters are not sealed, and I don't think can be.
