Hi, i have an inverter that is a Growatt 6kw with a max 500v input & 150v start up & the panels are all as per spec below. I have 10 panels & would like to wire them in 2 series of 5 = 10 in total. Which i think is 5x40.25voc = 212.50v Is my figures correct for my inverter & should i take any other things into account. Thanks for your help.

Why 2 strings of 5 panels each? Physical location of panels e.g. E/W facing? Have you modelled the location/output of the panels for the best efficiency of output?

The voltage at max power is 33.91.

If it is grid connected it will be pulling the maximum power possible.

So you will be just above start up voltage.

Either more panels or a different inverter.

A string of 5 with a voltage less than half the mppt maximum is not going to perform very well, especially poorly in low light, it's operating voltage is too close to the startup voltage. Sounds like one string of 10 would work fine assuming the panels are all in one orientation and no shading issues.

If you want to have two strings for shading, orientation reasons then maybe look at a different inverter or optimizers?
