Hi all,

I’d appreciate some expert insight on this.

A householder planning application was approved, and the Decision Notice lists the correct proposed plans (for the applicant’s property). However, one of the submitted context drawings (showing neighboring properties for assessment purposes) turned out to be inaccurate.

  • The extension itself is fully buildable as per the approved plans.
  • The Decision Notice includes a standard condition: “Development to be carried out in complete accordance with the approved plans listed.”
  • No conditions relate to the neighboring context drawings or their accuracy.

Questions:

  1. Could the council take enforcement action just because the background context was inaccurate, even if the build matches the approved plans?

The odds of this ever being picked up by planners are minimal

No.

'Approved ' means approved. Are the council going to dance on the head of a pin?
