Kevan Marshall Posted Sunday at 14:17 Posted Sunday at 14:17 Looking into ideas for driveway, I like exposed concrete but is going to be too expensive, probably Tarmac or Asphalt, Asphalt looks nicer in my opinion as it’s not as open and less prone to moss growing in it, how much more expensive is it compared to tarmac, I also have an old tractor so needs to stand up to heavier traffic? kind regards kevan.
nod Posted Sunday at 15:25 Posted Sunday at 15:25 Tarmac seems to be around £70m2 in our area I’m not sure how much more Asphalt is
Benpointer Posted Sunday at 20:21 Posted Sunday at 20:21 Show what I know - I thought asphalt and tarmac were the same thing.

Spees Posted Wednesday at 08:37 Posted Wednesday at 08:37 Tarmac no longer exists because tar is no longer made in quantity. Bitumen has been used instead for years and it makes bitmac. The available products are set out in BS EN 13108. This includes the old hot rolled asphalt to BS EN 13108-4 and what used to be called bitmac is now called asphaltic concrete to BS EN 13108-1 AC10.
