newplumber2025 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Thanks to anyone willing to take the time to read this. I'm attempting a DYI replacement, so please know I truly appreciate any guidance you may provide. Our Geberit concealed system broke down after about 12 years? and I recently received the new parts to replace it. The SIGMA mechanism seems straightforward enough to replace, but I'm having issues with connecting the Floater typ 383... The older floater has a different water hose connection, and I'm not sure which one I need for the 383? (I've attached photos for reference.) As I understand it, I need to purchase the correct water hose in order to complete the installation. But which one? Wish you all the best.
MikeSharp01 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Not sure but does the plastic nut not unscrew on the new one to offer a flat face connection that undoing the nut on the old one will reveal thus allowing a direct connection. Old nut onto thread revealed by unscrewing the new nut. There is probably a rubber washer in there somewhere as well so use the new one.
-rick- Posted June 5 Posted June 5 They look the same to me. Looks like the braided pipe is a standard fitting and the should unscrew from the rest of the assembly. The brass pipe on the new one has notches on it and I think whoever fitted the original cut the pipe down to a shorter length at the notches.

Probably can choose which part to unscrew.

I'm attaching additional photos of the flat face connection and the nut. I don't believe the new one can fit with the old one, so I figured I needed a new water hose to connect to the new one. Thanks again!
newplumber2025 Posted Monday at 08:35 Author Posted Monday at 08:35 I tried connecting the water hose with the new mechanism, but it doesn't fit... so I figured I had to install a new water hose with the proper connector. Please let me know if anyone needs additional photos. Thank you again for your help!!
-rick- Posted Monday at 13:31 Posted Monday at 13:31 I'm not really the right person to help but as no-one more knowledgable has spoken up. Whats the fitting at the other end of the flexible pipe? Can you remove and show? I hope someone more knowledgable will be along soon.
Nickfromwales Posted Monday at 13:37 Posted Monday at 13:37 This is a mistake on the suppliers part. They should have given you a new flexible hose which has 3/8” female connectors each end, which will replace the one you have. Just order the new flexible hose and you’ll be off to the races. Have you checked that the new float valve clips into the frame?
