markythesparky Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I have just replaced the soffit and fascia on the lower roof and i am wondering if i need to fit any ventilation in the soffit as it is open to the garage for over 60% of it see picture the soffit continues down the side of the garage
ETC Posted June 1 Posted June 1 If it’s insulated - yes (and it should be above the bow window) if not - no. Were there vents there before you replaced the soffit?
markythesparky Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 no its not insulated i had never thought about it before as the window bottom is not insulated either there was a vent in before but i could never understand what it was vented as you can look along the roof space from the garage. It would not be that hard to insulate just push a few tiles back and drop some in and the bottom is open for that.
