IanP Posted Saturday at 20:39 Posted Saturday at 20:39 Hi, Anyone out there that knows the current Scottish Building Reg for height of Garage floor when garage is integrated into house? I was planning on a step down of about 190mm at the internal door end and then a 1/80 slope down to the Garage door. Finding it difficult to find it specifically noted in the regs.
JohnMo Posted Saturday at 22:33 Posted Saturday at 22:33 Never understood the slope on a garage floor. I used to build cars and slopes were a pain. So now state they are flat. Now on my second flat floor no issues. Do you have to have a step down. Would expect the difference in height is to do with the insulation in the house floor and not the garage - could be wrong?

We had to (SE England) have a step down due to building regs. isn’t it something to do with fuel spillage? I never bothered to read up on it and just did as we were told.
scottishjohn Posted Sunday at 14:08 Posted Sunday at 14:08 yes you need a step down from house asit would appear that the garage is connected to house it will need fireproofing onthe ceiling of the garage as well especially if you are building over it and yes it is for the possibility of a petrol leakfrom the burning car which could set on fire and then run into house
