osprey Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Hello you helpful lot. Any guidance on how to lift this drain cover (picture attached)? Is it latched in some way, or is it 'just' a matter of getting the correctly shaped tools into the holes and lift? IS there a special tool/key for the job? I have tried a robust screwdriver, but cannot get any lift. Thanks in advance!
ProDave Posted May 27 Posted May 27 That will be heavy. Probably a 2 man lift with 4 handles, but someone else will have to advise what sort of handles to get as I don't recognise that type of cover.
saveasteading Posted May 27 Posted May 27 7 minutes ago, ProDave said: what sort of handles This is a vague memory: I think the handle is basically a hooked rod and there is space around the hole for it to get purchase. 2 hooks lift it and get a block under, then do the other end. It is probably badlu gummed up. i've looked online and they seem to be mostly for light weight covers. and these hooks look too long. Maybe ask at a specialist drainage merchant. JDP etc.
osprey Posted May 27 Author Posted May 27 Thanks for replies. Those hooks look about what I had in mind. I have done picture searches, but nothing comes up. Maybe a chat at a drainage merchant, mas you say.
osprey Posted May 27 Author Posted May 27 I think I have found it, or at least it looks the same. Thanks all! https://www.wrekinproducts.com/products/access-covers/recessed-trays-floor-finish/38mm/c271m060045
saveasteading Posted May 27 Posted May 27 That looks like it. It will be full of concrete so very heavy. 35kg or so?
