Cupboard over the stairs

This box is over the stairs. I would ideally like to put a cupboard on it (we have one that can be cut down). What’s the best way of doing this without putting undue load on the central box? The wood for the cupboard and the draws themselves are very heavy themselves. Thank you in advance!

Show us the cupboard. 
probably a dummy drawer at the bottom, so fix the drawer front in position but remove the drawer box.
