Hi folks.

I require an electrical safety inspection to satisfy a mortgage query. Said electrician must be NICEIC registered. Property is located near Lockerbie and about 15 mins north of Gretna.

Any recommendations?

TIA

Suitably qualified is NOT limited to NICEIC, there are other competent person schemes including SELECT in Scotland.

They have specified this qualification.

Through ignorance, or they are taking a backhander to do so.

Its an english based building society, so not sure how backhanders work there

The point is there are several competent person schemes for electricians in England as well as Scotland.  It makes my blood boil when a blinkered institution like this will only allow you to use one of them.

It has to be either ignorance, which needs challenging, or the NICEIC are somehow "encouraging" them to only accept NICEIC contractoes.

Rated people and about £99 should cover it - but the money is made from fixing the faults.

Thanks, much appreciated.
