Lincolnshire Ian Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Hi folks We are starting to plan roof tilers who will follow on directly after the erection of our timber frame house. The outer skin of block and render will start after the roofing is installed. Should I ask the roofer to install the soffit and fascia as part of their roofing visit, or is this something that needs doing after the block work and render has been completed. Thanks everyone.
Russell griffiths Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Depends what it is, plastic, wood, or aluminium do they do facia, a lot do it badly, I would get a facia company for upvc and a carpenter for wood and a metal roofer for anything, er metal.
Lincolnshire Ian Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 The Timber Frame company offer to put up the fascia and soffits, but this would mean installing them before the outer skin had been built. I was wondering whether anyone had any experience whether it worked better to install fascia and soffits before or after the outer skin is constructed.

I had my (aluminium) "foffit" (not a real name but a one-piece combined fascia and soffit) installed immediately after the framing, but before any slating (though some leadwork was being done at the same time. You know your dimensions and wall covering thicknesses - so there's no real downside Regards Tet 1
