I only just twigged: it's the end of the tax year.

So what? So, plant hire and owner operators are selling their old gear and have bought brand new stuff before the end of the tax year. That means there's a flood of 3-5 year old equipment on the market.

Their finance deals are often 3 / 4 /  5 years and capital allowances for tax often incentivise companies to buy new stuff.

I’m doing the plastering framing on a large self build The Ground-worker has just Paid 80k for two 13 tone machines He reckons the industry is a wash with plant Due to government free money over lockdown

One of the machines I had on loan was bought with the free cash

When it’s not here it’s sat in his yard doing nothing

Great time to buy
