February 4, 20251 yr Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has a ballpark figure for cost of a structural engineer to do foundation design for building regs submission? It will be a 1.5 storey TF house with 100m2 footprint. Have already had soil testing done and it just recommends 100mm strip foundations. Sandy ground. I don’t think it’s anything too technical but would just appreciate an idea of costing (and any recommendations of SEs!) so I can plan. cheers
February 4, 20251 yr I didn’t have to get a SE to do mine. Just dug and got it approved by LBC and my private warranty company.

BC will be on site when you dig the first trench and advise is they are happy or not once they see what's below.
February 4, 20251 yr Author One issue is that a soak away is within 5m so I think that’s the reason. Also, to be honest, I was told that was what was required for a a full submission for building regs so I think I’ve made an assumption there
