Alan Ambrose Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Sorry, just busy for a few days + BH system never sending any notifications. Pretty much any time is good.
Alan Ambrose Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Ah Jill is going to drop in this Thurs after 5, anyone else is welcome too. Site is IP17 2RL and there are only 5 houses in that postcode and one building site...
G and J Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Hi Alan, we would love to come, but in a frantic dash for move in at end of May, (no it won't be all finished), so unlikely we'll make it. Hope all is going to plan J
Alan Ambrose Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 I'm sure there will be another chance ... the basement stuff is happening over the next 3 months 🤐. BTW anyone know a local place with a table saw / band saw / resaw service? I have 12 bits of approx 3m x 100x100mm oak that I need sawn into approx 50x30mm strips.

Peggs can do this, they have cut lots for us, assuming that you can move it.

Alan Ambrose Posted yesterday at 15:58 Author Posted yesterday at 15:58 As we have not met up in person for a while, I’m interested in how everyone’s getting on?

Moved out of rental, moved into new pad. Lots done but fair bit still to do. Even had a week away in our neglected campervan. Back to work next week, worktops being fitted and we will actually move into our bedroom with any luck. No fancoils yet though, so I’m running even more dark pink than normal.
zzPaulzz Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago All done apart from driveway gates, a bit of landscaping and some more solar panels on the ground. Moved in in April, 12 month after breaking ground but only because work pressure forced me to get a project manager in, so less of the self-build sadly. 1
Alan Ambrose Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago I think progress is progress by whatever means. @JohnnyB ?
LSB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago building walls, but at least I can't see over them now. I would love to meet up. I nearly came to yours Geoff last week when I was in Woody, but ran out of time. I had a lovely visit to Alans, very envious of everyones progress

I don’t hold with the ‘do everything yourself or it’s not a self build’ concept. That house wouldn’t be there without you and yours. You’ve shaped it and made it happen. Feel good inside and try and remember not to bore your friends and family too much lol (I, G, fail royally on the last part!) 1
