Fuse Upgrade - Rights and liabilities

Recommended Posts

I currently have a 60A fuse and an unmoored cable that needs reconnecting (and rerouting) after a house refurb.

My understanding is that, as my predicted use (solar array etc) will be closer to 100A, but not high enough to require 3-phase then I am entitled to a new fuse and install free. Obviously, I would like a new cable as well but I am hoping that I can get this for free also. Is there any way for me to tell what my current cable is rated for?

Regards

your solar will not "need" anything like 100A.  your 60A connection will be fine.  It is only when you get to wanting 2 EV chargers or any other big loads like multiple electric showers that it will be an issue.

If you want a new cable, start by examining every mm of the existing one looking for signs of cracking or other damage.  If you can find anything that might be "dangerous" it will be replaced free of charge.
