Grannysan
Hi. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change the time that the Legionella cycle runs on my cylinder? And if so, how to do it - simply explained for technically-challenged me, lol. Just had ASHP & solar installed & it would be better if it ran during the day, when we have solar input plus half-price electricity. (It's currently running on a Friday evening peak time when our electricity price is doubled.)
JohnMo
You need to step back slightly and ask the question do I need it at all. If you use a good proportion of the water each day and don't have infirmed elderly people in the house there is a good chance you don't. This is a good write up on the subject https://www.heatgeek.com/hot-water-temperature-scalding-and-legionella/ Other than that tell the installer to get his arse back to change the timings. Or talk you through it. Every heat pump will have a different way to change the timings.
Redbeard
My understanding is that Legionella cycles (to 70ish degrees) are generally set for about 3 a.m. - ish - to reduce the risk of scalding. In terms of asking questions, I suppose one would be 'is there anyone likely to use the hot tap - in the middle of the day - who is not aware of the Legionalla cycle at x o'clock on y-day?'. joe90
I too don’t believe a legionella cycle is required in a domestic situation (I certainly didn’t have one on my build) if I did I would have a temp controller mixer before any outlets.

EDIT: We are both elderly & I am immunocompromised - so yes, I'd feel safer with the Legionella cycle ON, especially as we tend not to use a lot of hot water. Just would like to change the time when the cycle kicks in - if anyone can help with instructions for changing that.

Andehh
We turned ours off! If we wee to have elderly at risk, I'd manually zap it with the immersion I guess!
sharpener
Installation instructions are here, I can't find any mention of legionella settings. Found a more comprehensive manual here, periodical disinfection of HW tank settings are described on p 141.
