Skirting Boards - Sealant

Hi All

 

I have painted mdf skirtings downstairs on top of tiles

 

Would people recommend a clear sealant all the way round from the bottom of the skirting to the tiled floor?

 

If so what is the best clear silicone to use?

Caulk is better than silicone as it can be painted but make sure you use something that’s elastic so it’s less likely to crack.
