TastyBeverage Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) Hi, Recently moved house. Built around 10 years ago, Redrow build, detached houses. There are 5 drain/manhole? covers on the driveway. Would they be all connected to my property? I want to open them and understand what they are for and why so many! I've been used to one waste water cover from a 1960s house, was straight forward if there were a problem. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Trev Edited December 3, 2023 by TastyBeverage
Russell griffiths Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Lift the lids and have a look, run a tap and see where it comes out. Problem solved. 1

What sort of answer did you want ? they could be all yours, or they could be from next door. They could be rainwater, they could be sewerage, it could be a grease trap. simple answer. Lift the lids and run a tap. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. You can actually get a drain dye to put in your sink, toilet to tell what one is yours. Go on get out there. 1
saveasteading Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Flush toilet(s) with toilet paper, or more, in it and follow its journey. 1
TastyBeverage Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 Sorry Russ and thank you. Will lift up and have a gander at some point once this snow has gone!
saveasteading Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 It's worth investing in a pair of manhole keys. 1
