rafter roll

So forgot to put on rafter roll on before membrane, half the roof is now slated. Could staple it on from inside to each side of rafter but this got me thinking... one section of the roof will be blown cellulose at rafter level, the rest cellulose at joist level. So is rafter roll necessary as the cellulose is breathable?

Is it necessary @nod , the outer membrane is breathable

Is condensation a possibility or probability if there is no airgap at joist level if so, what's different when insulating at rafter level?

Started fitting roll from the inside PITA anyhoo, am still thinking that as the roof is counter-battened, with breathable membrane is this necessary? Anyone?

Ours was missed off. We cut to size and stabled on.  

Questionable whether is is needed, given no Eaves vents and breathable membrane, but we fitted anyway.

It maybe a PITA now to fit, but imagine what it would be like when the BCO or warranty person comes along at the end when you have insulated, and say's "Where's the rafter roll" ?
