hbooth
Building conrtol as are asking me to provide them with surface water design and calcualtions. Does anyone have any good resources online that are free to use to do this? The surface water will drain to a soak away so will probably need design/calcs for that too. Any help would be much appreciated.
SteamyTea
I take it you have looked at Part H of the building regs? https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/442889/BR_PDF_AD_H_2015.pdf
saveasteading
The method in doc H is remarkably simple. The detailed design from first principles is very complex but you don't need to go there. Just remember to keep it going downhill, and that some rodding points lose 40 or 60mm between in and out. Soakaway design is also covered, but it depends on the ground, and needs an easy diy percolation test. Don't cheat on this or you will have problems. Have a look and let us know what you think.
