Foam gun lost propellant?

I got my foam gun out today. It's been almost a year since I used it and it has a nearly full can of Illbruck FM330 attached.

 

The gun still works great, it hasn't clogged up. The foam however spattered down one side of a window and then gave up coming out.

 

I've shaken it for minutes and nothing. If I pull the trigger a tiny bit of foam oozes out and that's it.

 

I've stored it with the can upright so thinking it's not the gun and that the propellant has leaked out? Anyone had that happen before?

They all do that, after a while of being connected the can is useless.

Although I've returned to a connected can after well over a year without use and it worked as if it was only yesterday. I must admit I was very surprised though so probably a stroke of luck rather than an anecdote to be relied upon.

I’ve had a failed can similarly.  I assume if it’s stored upright then maybe gas can slowly creep out.  Ive taken to storing it slightly upside down, thinking that the gas will force out a bit of the foam which will self seal rather than leak the contents.

Having bought a new can - it wasn't the propellant. The first can was fine. The needle moves with no issue in the gun. Somewhere between where the can screws on and the foam reaches the needle it has gone solid.

Youtube has gun-fettling videos. I have probably 5-10 guns waiting, and I have done a couple in the past. From memory it is a PITA, but it works.
