richo106
The majority of our bedrooms have been plastered this week i was just wondered what people thought was the best order to do things in regards to skirting/architrave and painting etc.. is it best to at least mist coat first? Also what is the best way to fix it? Sticks like sh*t and nail gun? Just double checking you caulk it all up before painting? sorry for the basic questions but want to make sure I get it right literally any advice/information would be very much appreciated
Bonner
Check the bottom of the walls are plumb and scrape if needed (plasterers often leave the bottom curled out!) Mist coat walls See YT for recommended adhesive, Robin Clevitt has some tests. Consensus seems solvent based is best. Caulk the top edge before fixing if you can
Dave Jones
mist coat, spirit level. our chippy uses the pu foam gun to stick it. just let the plaster dry out fully first, you dont want mdf skirting blowing through damp.
