joe90 Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I applied to South West Water in the new year for a new supply to my build, they told me the requirements and I installed my pipe up to the boundary ready for their connection and meter pit. The did a survey and told me the water main was inside the field opposite and would need a road closure. They gave me a quote and i paid it. After months of waiting I chased them to be told they were waiting for my confirmation I was ready. I told them i was ready when the survey was done and their inspector saw it. They then told me it was booked in for OCTOBER!!!, despite being annoyed I politely agreed. They then told me I had not gained permission from the owner of the field to complete the connection. I pointed out the connection to the main was their infrastructure and I only owned the pipe from my boundary, all other pipe work was theirs 🤯. Despite my arguing they insisted and gave me the phone number of the land owner who I called and bless him he was as confused as me as he agreed it was their pipes and work and he had already told them he was In agreement, still I reported this back to S W Water.  Pissup and brewery spring to mind.
Adsibob Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Wow @joe90 that beats even Thames Water levels of incompetence, and that’s saying something!
