Hi

From top of trench block to floor level is 225mm insulation will hit top of trench block.  Does anyone put weep vents just above ground level incase cavity gets filled with water.  Cannot find  anything on NHBC site about this?

cheers

I haven’t in either of our builds

Some companies and most housing associations do

Its quote Simple to do You run a tray all the way around the perimeter sloping down to dpc

Some do the same at chamber also

Usually local authority

might put a few at 150mm from floor level so during build water can just drain out.  I've  not this done in the past like you  and there's no tray required for radon etc.

if you need to 'move' your DPC level up to accommodate for level threshold for example then a tray 1 block up from DPC (with weeps at youf FFL) will allow you to breach the normal 150mm that has to be maintained below FFL.  Just make sure the brickie adds a second 4" dpc 1 block up on the outer brickwork as well.

Costs peanuts to do and gives really good flexibility for patio's, sloping approaches etc
