jayc89
Looking for a pretty basic loft hatch, doesn't need to be massive, or have integrated ladders, purely for access only, and I very rarely plan to be in that part of the roof space. Preferably something that's airtight and has some level of insulation incorporated. Any recommendations?
elite
I went with one of these easy enough to fit once you have the correct opening https://www.jupiterblue.co.uk/loft-hatches-c2/standard-range-c9/airtight-loft-hatch-560-x-640mm-hinged-patented-design-p221 1

It says their most efficient hatch as 100mm PIR bonded to it, whereas their cheapest uses 65mm "foam". I have plenty of 100mm offcuts kicking around, do you think it would be reasonable to buy the cheapest, rip off the foam and bond a length of PIR to it? TonyT
Yes and the old foam makes a handy template!

Don't see why not, IIRC the PIR is just glued with the edges taped with silver tape to protect them
