Pocster
My flat roof is special; as you can drive on it ( but no one has or will drive on it! ). I saw this by chance today. Scuffed it with my shoe ; didn't want to brush it and make it worse. Not sure if the asphalt is flaking off or not? ( roof probably 4/5 years old ) Or is it just crud? ; this area does seem to hold water a bit....

Radian
Just now, pocster said: Interestingly the bit before the black ducting seems ok ….. Has crud built up under the duct so creating a dam and keeping water in a pool on the other side? Repeated freeze/thaw might have weakened it - or maybe it's bio matting (algae) can't really see from photo.

I recall when the roof was done that the asphalt wasn’t necessary ( I insisted on it ) ; as it’s a protective layer to the mono block substrate thingy ( something like that ) . Will give it a brush and see …
