benben5555
Hi Guys, we need to decide on the colour we are going to paint our horizontal feather edge cladding and timber windows. About 50% of the house is clad and 50% is brick, so the window colour needs to go with both. The following list is what we are thinking, what would you go with? Black cladding / black windows Black cladding / light green (painswick) windows Blue-grey cladding / cream windows Blue-grey cladding / greige windows
Bonner
Most people let their cladding naturally weather to silver grey, avoiding the need for regular repainting, have you thought about that? Colours are personal choice and some go better in different locations, you can find inspiration on sites like Pinterest

The problem with this is that it weathers unevenly and any protected bits can remain the original colour which looks awful to my eyes. Therefore I was either going to have to maintain it regularly or try and get it to weather evenly. Consequently we are treating ours with SiOO:X (try pronouncing that on the phone when you call to ask questions about it 😂) It accelerates the silvering process, it weathers more evenly, and protects the wood from the black surface mould. We shall see if it actually works of course. Edited March 10, 2023 by Kelvin
