What is this external pipe?

Hi - we have recently viewed a property, which is heated via oil (tank is in the garden). The agent informed us that there was no gas.

 

I'm just trying to figure out what this bit of kit is? It is fixed to the back of the house.

 

We would any ideas please?

Looks like a Propane gas regulator.

Yes, definitely set up for a couple of  gas bottles. Maybe a gas hob, past or present.

Yes automatic changeover 2 cylinder setup.

 

If the property still has a gas hob then make sure the vendor includes the gas bottles or you will be going and hiring a new pair.  If no longer any gas appliences (e.g all electric now) and you don't intend having a gas hob it can be removed.
