duncnewhome
Hope someone can help with this, what is the requirement for plasterboard covering a new RSJ in a two story extension?
ETC
You’ll need to achieve 30 minutes fire protection but it’s not as simple as putting a bit of plasterboard over the beam. Check out the following. https://www.british-gypsum.com/specification/white-book-specification-selector/steel-protection?system[0]=6796
Conor
We used intumescent paint on beams that were sitting on their own, or pink board for areas that had a few and it was more economical that way. You have to make sure if boarding you have the board running fully around, i.e. you'll need an upstand where it ends.
