Timber Frame Lintels

Any tips on the use of timber frame lintels in brickwork? Our windows are going to be set back quite far into the reveal and I'm just wondering what aesthetic this is going to give at the head with a large expanse of lintel showing? Is there an alternative? Or does anyone have any photos to share of what their window head looks like externally.

If it’s face work you will have to live with it 

If it’s being rendered Stick a cement board over and render it

You can get PVC lintol covers which slide of them.
