bigandyt Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Hi there, We recently renovated the house and had it re-plastered. I've just noticed a large gap between the window frame and the surround see the following pictures. It seems to be causing a draft into the cavity wall. Its been a long time now and probably too late to get them back so I thought id try and resolve myself. Would like some guidance on how to fix properly. Would spraying expanding foam into the gap and then going over with filler be ok, or could anyone with experience direct me the best possible way to proceed. Sorry if the above is a stupid idea. Thanks in advance, Andy
MikeGrahamT21 Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 A good elastic expanding foam (Illbruck FM330 is ideal) and then filler to finish
Vijay Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 I'd go expanding foam and them decorators caulk so it won't crack
bigandyt Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 thanks for the input, really appreciate it, will have a go at resolving it today
