jayc89 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I'm looking for a brick match to our existing bricks. We're based in East Yorkshire, I believe there was a local brick yard active at the time of construction (approx. 1880) but have been told they look like Cambridge Whites. Imperial bricks, approx 9" x 3" x 4.5" so pretty big. I can't find a decent match for love nor money. Can anyone suggest anywhere I can look?
MikeGrahamT21 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) What is the height of the brick? These days you can get 65mm or 73mm, theres also 68mm but they are not as common. Are you sure these are brick and not brick sized stone? Edited December 13, 2022 by MikeGrahamT21

I just can't find anything like to match though. I suspect the previous owner had a similar problem as where bricks have been replaced previously, it's quite obvious they're smaller, metric bricks. MikeGrahamT21 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 They do look like they've had a lot of weather and a nice covering of lichen, very hard to match to. Nearest i've got: https://www.salvoweb.com/33167-reclaimed-cambridge-yellow-bricks https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155202679090 https://www.salvoweb.com/29315-256-multistocks-ps250 https://www.salvoweb.com/24067-reclaimed-yellow-imperial-bricks http://www.lazdan.co.uk/reclaimed-bricks/ I'd say you're going to be looking at reclaimed for anywhere close. Hope this helps. 1
Brickie Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Solopark near Cambridge should have a healthy stock of Cambridge Whites, bit of a trek for you though. 1
jayc89 Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 Nearest I've been able to find so far are these. Which aren't quite the right size, too buff and are handmade vs ours that look more like a wire cut The hunt continues.
twice round the block Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) Can you clean off an area of yours and do another photo as it maybe easier to work out a match. I don't mean sandblasting. Tar. Edited January 6, 2023 by twice round the block
