Madog slate country or quarry of origin?

Hello, we’re looking at a slate call Madog, but I can’t find any info on the country or quarry of origin. Has anyone looked at it or used it please? No pyrites and 100yr guarantee seems too good to be true for the price.

Sounds like a name that a seller has attached 

Lots of slate have 70-100 year piro guarantee An A grade  for piro doesn’t always give you a good slate 

We used a slate with virtually no piro but required a lot of grading 

This time we narrowed it down to Estillo prime and Sumo 

Both flat and low in piro

Porthmadog is a place in Wales.

Better known as Porthmadoc.

 

Used to do slate.

Porthmadoc is the port the slate was shipped from after coming down the narrow gauge railway (which is now a tourist route) from the Llechwed slate mines near Blaenau Ffestiniog.
