Tetrarch
If all goes to plan we'll be having a new slate roof fitted and I'd like to have a solar array embedded in the south-facing portion of it. I've asked a couple of roofers (one by reference and one who lives three doors away) and neither have any solar roofing experience. Who should take the lead here? The solar company, or do I have to find an appropriately experienced roofer? Regards Tet
nod
Most roofers don’t get involved with solar You will have to coordinate two separate companies I certainly wouldn’t employ a PV company to do the slating Edited October 26, 2022 by nod
Dave Jones
in roof trays GSE are very very simple to fit. best time to fit them is prior to tiling so you can make the cuts at top and side work. Ask your roofer if they have fit a velux if they have these are 10x simpler. Edited October 26, 2022 by Dave Jones
Hargrid
Thanks for the link, we are seriously thinking about this system or similar for our new build.
